The old villa de Zurgena is located where the Rio Almanzora flows. It is a town with an enormous church; Iglesia Mudejar, majestically placed on top of the town houses.
The old village of Zurgena is located in the lower basin of the Rio Almanzora. It has a huge Mudejar church that stands majestically above the village houses.
Close by are the Cueva del Llano de las Eras. If you go further up into the valley, you'll come to the Arboleas which is in a much drier landscape that contrasts with the fertile land at the riverside.
This valley is packed full of colourful citrus trees. They've now started producing olive oil here too.
