Cabo de Gata and it's municipalities deserve their own chapter. San Miguel or San Jose are municipalities in which in the last times is building an important tourist destination name for itself. Undoubtfully because of it's gorgeous natural environment, a priveledge in the XXI century.

Sand dunes, cliffs, forests, reedbeds...this is what San Miguel de Cabo de Gata a small fisherman municipality is made of. It is located to the west of Cabo de Gata, near the Reserva de las Salinas, a strategic enclave for migrating birds like flamingos. If we move towards the east and pass by Faro de Gata and the Parque Natural with the same name, we'll run into Playa del Monsul where Indian jones and the Last Crusade was filmed, as well as the Playa de los Genoveses, Los Escollos, locality in which a diving club exists in which they make many trips by boat...we must not fail to mention the beautiful Isleta del Moro. To the west of Parque Natural del Cabo de Gata, we'll arrive in the San Jose locality, a very small and old artisan fisherman town which today is a tourist reference point, and has a small marina.
