To speak of Almeria is to speak of beaches, tourism, as well as culture, especially since it has the second biggest arab construction in Spain called the Alcazaba, which is only surpassed by the Alhambra in Granada. The beach promenade, it´s monuments and it´s enchantment are all things you should not miss out on.

When we speak of Almeria, you must understand that there is one place that cannot go unmentioned, and must be visited, La Alcazaba. It is dated back to the IX century, with more than 43,000 square feet. The second biggest arab constructed building in Spain. The first is the Alhambra in Granada.
In the installations of the Alcazaba also important to mention is the Castillo Medieval (the medieval castle). This was built in the XV Century in the year 1489 to be exact by petition of the Catholic King and Queen.

If you have visited the Alcazaba, you must know that close by is the best lookout point in the city.

The cultural trip around this city will bring you to historic buildings in Almeria. You can visit the Iglesia de San Juan; The Hospital Real, from the Renaissance era; El paseo de San Luis; The cathedral, which was constructed in the XVII century to repell the attacks of the berberiscos which arrived by the sea; El Convento de las Puras (convent of the pure), and the Palacio Espiscopal (the episcopal palace).

On the other hand, besides the historic buildings, Almeria holds in it´s interior beautiful town squares villed with history such as the Plaza del Bendicho; la Plaza Masnou; la Plaza Pablo Cazard...and emblematic streets such as the Calle Séneca.
